You won't be Bored Games
Brief Summary: This article gives a little bacgammon background, a glimpse into the game and board itself, and a look at the variations on the game that can be played on the bacgammon board.
Bacgammon, sometimes referred to as Tables or Tric-Trac, is one of the first board games in the world and is considered number one by many. While many of its elements - such as the checker-reminiscent game pieces and the dice - are common to numerous other board games, bacgammon board games are very distinct overall. The bacgammon board is in the shape of a rectangle, with triangles whose colors alternate. These formational designs indicate the positioning for the bacgammon board game pieces.
Bacgammon is one of the family of race board games, which means that the winners are those who've beaten the other players to specific spots on - or finally off - the bacgammon board.
If you're new to bacgammon board games you won't be new long. It just takes a brief bit of time to learn how to play. After a few board games you'll be fairly proficient. Of course, becoming a real connoisseur and expert bacgammon board games player takes much practice, and an understanding not only of the complexity of all its rules but, like any of the other board games, a realization of what combinations of dice and plays are going to be most advantageous.
Bacgammon is popular the world over, not only in the form of board games but online as well. You can find many Web sites and pages devoted to the bacgammon craft.
Other board games, or other versions of the bacgammon game, can be played on a bacgammon board. Some of these are chouette, acey deucey, European acey deucey, Dutch bacgammon, Russian bacgammon, plakato, gioul and snake.
Acey Deucey is one of the more innovative of the bacgammon board games.
All players start off the bacgammon board in this game. The way they get to enter the bacgammon board and move around it is the identical way that they go home when playing regular bacgammon board games. That is, the white players enter by way of the home board of their opponents, the black players, and vice versa.
While the board games rules for acey deucey are nearly identical to the rules for bacgammon, in acey deucey you can move any of your players any time you wish to do so. It doesn't matter if you have any players to bring on to the board or not. A one two roll (in other words, an acey deucy) is special. You begin with this play.
Early game strategy in acey deucy is to try to establish advanced points as quickly as you can, and if possible also establish adjacent points as base for a prime. If both sides develop primes right smack up against one another, the advantage lies with the prime that is farther advanced. Even if the man with the farther-advanced prime has to break his first, he will probably win the game; if he can hold his prime longer, he almost surely will win.
